aua'i is loaded with things to do, and to narrow all activities to a list of "top ten" is difficult! However, if your stay on the island is limited, here's a list of ideas of things not to miss:

Farmer's Market Helicopter Tour Botanical Gardens Sunset at Ke'e
Waimea Canyon Kayak Lu'au
Snorkel Tunnels Hike Kalalau Waterfalls

1. Check out a farmer's market

Of course, no trip to Hawai'i would be complete without a sampling of the local produce. Be sure to check out a local farmer's market (known on-island as a sunshine market) to get the freshest, best-tasting produce around. From papayas and coconuts to pineapple and mangoes, Kaua'i offers a wide array of locally grown produce that's sure to keep you coming back for more. On the North Shore, your best bets are the Tuesday market outside Hanalei (about 2 miles) at 2:00 PM, the Thursday market on Keneke Road in Kilauea, the Saturday market on Kilauea Road (also in Kilauea), and the Saturday market at 10:00 AM in Hanalei.

2. Head west to Waimea Canyon

Often likened to the Grand Canyon, Waimea Canyon offers dramatic testimony to the variety of environments on Kaua'i. The canyon's magnificent expanse offers numerous opportunities for great hiking and awe-inspring views. Be sure to make the drive up Waimea Canyon Road for an unforgettable experience; along the drive, you will come across several lookouts not to be missed - Waimea Canyon Lookout, Ni'ihau Lookout, Pu'u Ka Pele Lookout and Pu'u Hinahina Lookout.
