Also known as Pali Ke Kua, Hideaways Beach is a smaller secluded beach beneath the cliffs at Princeville. Getting to this beach requires a short hike on a sometimes slippery (and muddy)descending path, so don't wear your best shoes on this jaunt -- but the effort is worth it. The beach is one of the less crowded beaches on Kaua'i, and it's a great spot to bring a picnic lunch. Behind the beach against the cliffs are huge kamani trees, whose thick green canopies provide a cool sheltering from the afternoon sun.

When the seas are not showing off and the water is calm, the reefs off Hideaways are a great spot for snorkeling.
