Lumaha'i Beach was made famous in the movie South Pacific and is one of the North Shore's most scenic spots. The crescent-shaped sand beach is backed by a large lava cliff which slopes into the ocean. While the beach itself is quite large and the sand is beautiful, swimming is not suggested at this beach; the beach faces the open water and waves come crashing in with terrific force given the lack of an offshore reef.
