Kaua'i has two "seasons" -- winter (September thru April) and summer (May thru August). Temperatures in winter range from mid-70's to low-90's, while summer ranges from mid-60's to upper-70's.
Even if you've never snorkeled before, this is one spot that might
make you run to a local shop and buy a snorkel and mask. The "oooh's" and "aaah's" of people coming from a snorkeling adventure
are sure to arouse curiosity, and for good reason. The variety of sea life and the beauty of the coral reef are remarkable. A word of
caution -- be sure to lather on the sunscreen before heading into the water; it's quite possible that you forget the time as you
admire sea creatures and end up brighter than the fish you're watching!
If you don't want to venture in the water, Tunnels
has great shade trees overhanging the beach where you can soak up the majesty of the North Shore.
